I know I'm not the only one who waits to the last minute to figure out wait to wear for Halloween. Or maybe you are poor like myself and can't afford to buy a costume. Well don't worry I've got your back. ;] Here are two ideas for costumes using clothes from your closet!
First costume choice, 80's girl. If you don't own 80's inspired clothes you simply are not from this planet.
So for the 80's look I am wearing an oversized sweater. The shape of mine lends towards the 80's but I think just a simple oversized sweater would work too. Then I pulled out my trusty high waisted shorts. Again, my shorts definitely lean towards 80's/90's. I added some brooches that I made. Nothing says 80's like neon hearts! And lastly some simple black flats. And of course I'm rocking the the side ponytail.
Other ideas for this look:
Leg warmers
track suits
pastels
neons
bigger hair
acid wash
mom's jeans
& should padding
For this second look I went for something a little more subtle. This is my 70's/ hippy look. This one is so easy. And is great for if you are going out all day and then straight to a party because it doesn't scream costume.
For this look I am wearing a long soft floral and flowy dress. I added a metal hair piece around my head. (which is actually a hair piece.) Added a flower and off course no shoes.
Other ideas for this look:
bell bottoms
vests
"male love not war" sign
circle shaped glasses
braids
maxi dress
& woven tapestry
I hope these outfit ideas have helped your creative juices to start flowing. What are you going to dress up as? I love Halloween because it gives us the chance to try on a new us. Be something you naturally are not. I can't wait to see what to your outfits!
